Auckland Floats offers new and second-hand horse floats for lease and hire at unbeatable prices. We have the largest selection and collection of floats available in the country, so make sure you get in touch with us if you are wanting a short or long term lease, or simply wanting to trial a particular brand for a period. You also have the option to swap floats and try out a different float if your horse is not suited to a particular brand as we have found on so many occasions with scrambling a very real issue for some horses. We have been in the floating game for a considerable time now and can also offer valuable advise with floating issues.
We stock most of the popular brands, including the ultimate in floats, the 'LEGACY', (which has proven itself to be exactly that, a fantastic float that requires next to no mantenance) You can choose from a number of options, whether it be a 1 day hire, or a 1,3,6 or 12 month lease on a brand new or second-hand float ...... we aim to meet your requirements.
Perhaps you are considering a purchase? Read some of the facts on our lease page before you do - you could save yourself thousands of dollars.
As if the cost of horse ownership and equipment isn't enough, why fork out another $16,000.00 or more on a float, only to have it sitting there devaluing. By leasing a float, you can free up your time as well as your capital and let someone else carry the burden of ownership! At the end of the season, simply return it and then you don't even have to worry about storage. Perhaps you are reluctant to buy a float because you are not sure when your daughter will discover boys? Whatever your reason, we will tailor a package to suit your needs. You may consider "sharing a lease" with someone else? - Auckland Floats can offer this as an option also.
A PURCHASING TIP - issues to be aware of when buying.

With the largest collection of floats in the country, who better to take advise from-
- We purchased 25 brand new Thoroughbred floats between 08 and 09 to put into our lease and hire fleet, above are pics of 3 of the 2009 models
Thoroughbred floats paneling is 'electro galv', which has a zinc coating 1/10th the thickness of that on galvanised panels (google electrogalv to confirm the difference). Rust started appearing in many after only 12 months and the 'then' Directors ran for cover. Between the rust, constant ramp replacements, reconditioniong couplings and repairing of brakes, we certainly will not be buying any more of these floats. Whilst the work load of a hire float is generally greater than for private use, rust is rust and should not be penetrating floats after 12 months. Here is a good reason why you should lease and not own certain brands. - and just to point out, we also have many other locally made brands in our fleet which we do not have rust issues with, so we are not having a crack at all manufacturers, only this brand. Being their number one customer for 3 years, and left high and dry when it comes to after sales service and repairs leaves a bitter taste I assure you.
Availabillity:
Take a look at the floats we have currently available. If there is not one there that takes your fancy, drop us an email as we have New Zealand's largest collection of floats in the country and there is bound to be something you will like due back shortly.
We have made the lease process simple! Email your interest info@aucklandfloats.co.nz and we will forward a contract for your perusal. We will cover insurance, warrant of fitness, registration and maintenance - it's very easy!
Leases start from $60.00 per week for some of our older models, or if you prefer something newer prices start from $75.00 per week inclusive of gst - depending on the term of the lease. Enquire about our commercial use option for your business, as different rates will apply.
Daily Hire We have seen some poor quality floats being used from standard hire companies. Why pay up to $120 per day for these brightly coloured, sometimes non braked beasts when our quality floats are much cheaper. We have a half day mimimum charge of $50.00 or if you only want a float for a couple of hours we can accommodate you at an agreed rate.
